Songs of Praise by Shame Review

Songs Of Praise by Shame

This album rocks, guys. Seriously, even if you don't normally listen to punk or post-punk music, this album is a joy to listen to. I'm so glad I came across this album, and it's one that I will be coming back to when comparing against other music later in the year.

This album is very in-your-face. And I mean VERY in your face. And that's a great thing. The first song, Dust On Trial, is a great opening track for this album, immediately setting the mood and putting one of the best songs in front of you right away. Concrete does the same thing, just keeping up the intensity while still being approachable and at times, just downright funny.

The last song of the album, Angie, shows Shame's versatility in their writing, with a lighter instrumental on this 7 minute track but still being able to keep the same sound in a way that it enhances the experience, rather than hurting it.

This project doesn't hit it's mark 100% of the time, but it gets pretty dang close. It's an album I recommend to anyone looking for something different to try and get into. You won't regret it.

Thank you for reading! And as always, this is Kenny Haller, over and out.
