Hallelujah Nights - LANCO Album Review

Hallelujah Nights - LANCO

I enjoyed this album. I think you will enjoy this album as well, but that doesn't mean I don't have my gripes with this new record. Brandon Lancaster and company (appropriately named LANCO) use this project as an extension of their 2016 self titled EP, with all 4 songs from that EP on this record with 7 other new songs. I really enjoyed their EP when it came out, as well as their single for this album, Born To Love You. So I was very excited when this album was released, and more importantly, very relieved when it was as good as I wanted it to be.

This album does something special, with it's ability to change things up while still keeping a consistent feel throughout. Every song feels different, which is sometimes a problem for country artists in particular to do.

Somewhere it doesn't shine, though, is with the lyrics in some songs. Some songs feel like they're telling the exact same story in a very similar way at times, about love particularly in Born To Love You, Singin' at the Stars, and Win You Over, all new songs for this project. But hey, maybe Lancaster and the group was just feeling particularly inspired, and they're all enjoyable songs, so it's only a minor complaint.

Hallelujah Nights is a song that just feels energetic. Like it makes you want to stand up and stand moving-type of energetic. And it ends the album with this long outro with the words "finally feeling free" repeating over and over again into a really powerful moment. Great way to end this album.

Overall, I highly recommend this album to anyone who enjoys any type of country music, you'll be sure to find something you like on this album!
